Dittisham Boat Hire Ltd operate from the pontoon by the Ferry Boat Inn, in the village of Dittisham, just up from Dartmouth on the beautiful River Dart.

Dartmouth Boat Hire

Self steer hire boats have been operating from this location for around 50 years and have afforded thousands of people every year the opportunity to explore the beautiful river Dart at their own pace, as if it were their own boat.  Our boats are available to hire for the duration of 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours and 6 hours during the day time, and available to hire after 6pm by the hour. Longer periods are also an option for up to 5 days. 
No license is required to take a boat out, we do however have to ensure that the hirer has appropriate experience.(we do give FULL instructions).  We have boats available and licensed for parties of any size up to 8 people.

Take a trip on a paddle steamer

The ‘Kinswear Castle’ is the last remaining coal fired paddle steamer in the UK and she was built on the River Dart! In 1924 she was launched from Noss by Philip & Son Ltd and you can take a trip from Dartmouth on this gorgeous ship from a bygone era.

Take the ferry to Dartmouth

Get a boat from totnes to dartmouth today! Easily the best way to get to Dartmouth is to walk into Dittisham and catch the ferry from down on the pontoon by the Ferry Boat Inn. They run every half hour from 10.30 – 17.00 daily and you get a super trip without the hassle of parking your car when you arrive. Call to book – essential in the summer as they only carry 12 passengers at a time.
