We first discovered this magical place Fingals 30 years ago, We have returned many times since bringing first the children, then the grandchildren and assorted friends. This time we have returned for our 50th wedding anniversary and, as usual, found it as welcoming and quirky as ever!

Sheila & Richard have become friends over the years as we all grow old together – long may Fingals continue!

We were looking for peace and quiet and thats what we got. This place is beautiful and would love to see the garden in full bloom. The pool was fresh but sooo nice and the sauna was relaxing,. We visited some lovely beaches within a 30 minute drive, used the Dittisham to Dartmouth ferry! … we found some lovely places to eat and drink locally and all of them very welcoming.

You have a dream home here and thank you for sharing it with us.

Fingals! Great to be back in this little bit of magic in the depths of Devon … Bailey was in Heaven whatever the weather and we woke up every morning in a piece of paradise that is the magical Fingals Folly!

Richard & Sheila, it has been great to return after a few years to relive old memories and walks (including our honeymoon!) and make some wonderful new ones!

Thank you both for the great welcome, the drinks and the great supply of wood to ensure we stayed cosy beside the brook on these January evenings.

We had a superb stay in the Fingals Barn(two adults two kids and a dog). We adored the pool morning and evening – so good to bookend the days. Plenty to do even in ‘low season’, Very comfy beds, great atmosphere – very magical! We’re hoping to return.

Barberry Brook … What a special place – we slept every night with the door to the balcony open, with the sound of the brook lulling us to sleep.  The quietness here blessed us with a real opportunity to rest and lot of fun playing snooker and swimming in the pool.  So much to do in the area as well, we’ve already booked to come back!  Thank you!

We loved being in the Barn with the swimming pool right next to us … Best Bits: Countercurrent in the pool (great to swim against); lovely dog (Nutmeg) reminded us of ‘Courtney’ in the children’s books & loved all the plants and flowers all around and especially next to the pool;  felt very tropical … the pool table was also very fun!
