A charming Devon holiday cottage
With its high green oak trusses, well-snuggled sofas and timeworn vintage rugs, The Barn at Fingals is the perfect home from home for any group of friends or family. It has floor to ceiling windows that overlook beautiful gardens allowing natural light to flood in, creating a space that feels roomy, warm and rustic. The holiday home benefits from a large open plan kitchen-diner and lounge area, allowing you to cook, eat, drink and relax together. It also has a covered balcony, so alfresco dining can be on the cards come rain or shine.
The accommodation
The Barn has a beautiful King size bedroom on the lower floor, with an ensuite and access to its own private garden patio. On the first floor, there is a compact double bedroom and small twin room. Both these rooms have access to a spacious family bathroom with roll top bath, so you can have a long relaxing soak after a day’s exploring. If your group is larger than six people, you can also book the nearby Wisteria Suite, which sleeps an extra four people accommodating a total group size of 10.

Fingals is located in Dittisham, a quaint village perched on the west bank of the River Dart in South Devon. Our self-catering properties are set in an idyllic and peaceful valley upstream from Dartmouth, perfectly located for exploring the stunning South Hams. Nearby you’ll find some of England’s best beaches, fantastic pubs and restaurants, beautiful walks and interesting days out. Visit nearby Greenway House, a National Trust property once home to author Agatha Christie, take a ride on the famous steam train with the South Devon Railway or while away the hours in the historic market town of Totnes, home to quirky shops, castle ruins and a wonderful Saturday market. Dog-friendly Devon cottage
Although The Barn has never really fulfilled its true purpose of housing animals, we are more than happy for you to bring your four-legged friends along. We have two friendly Lurchers that call Fingals home, so we have more tried-and-tested dog walks than you can shake a stick at. We do ask however, that dogs are taken with you whenever you leave the property to avoid any damage or noise disturbance for other guests.
