If you are looking for perfect, modern decor, straight walls and no character then this will not be the place for you. BUT if you are looking for somewhere steeped in history, creaking floorboards and bursting with period features and furniture with plenty of room for all the family or a group of friends, then you will find a little bit of heaven at Fingals Manor.  Situated far from the madding crowd but within walking distance of Dittisham and only 15 minutes by car to Dartmouth, Fingals Manor is set in a picture perfect garden with lots to do for all the family. Fantastic venue. Rooms beautiful, beds comfy, mostly ensuite, great quirky ambience to rooms, kitchens well equipped. Tons and tons of room to either chill out on your own or have great fun with everyone. The games room, heated pool, grass tennis court, the kids slept well they were so knackered. Beautiful house (Manor Farmhouse), beautiful garden. Facilities were excellent, particularly the lovely pool and tennis court.  Richard and Sheila were very welcoming, suggested places to visit and were quick to respond to our request and queries.  All in all, an enchanting place for a perfect family holiday. Perfect large house for a family holiday of generations with large bedrooms and superior en suites.  With lawn tennis and a pool and lovely weather this proved to be quite a celebration.  Plenty of pubs and activities close by too which kept all the family aged 4 to 70 years entertained.  A wonderful garden with many places to sit and read or chat and enough rooms for Tv viewing board games and fine dining. It is a perfect place for a multigenerational holiday! We really enjoyed our stay. The house is old and full of history and characters, the garden is so lovely. We stayed in the Folly, which is wonderfully eclectic. Its furnishings have been carefully curated over a long period of time. It was both comfortable and convenient with cozy furniture as well as a well equipped kitchen. It reminded us of a 1930s resort with its private swimming pool, lawn tennis court, snooker table and a lot of board games and puzzles. The location is idyllic, but some might say a little remote, especially if you’re not used to driving on one lane roads. Fingal’s is not for everyone, but it was exactly right for us. The Folly is a more recent extension of the varied units at Fingals. It overlooks the immaculate grass tennis court and gardens full of art and sculpture. The Johnston family hospitality knows no bounds and we as visitors are as their guests. The Folly has quite steep stairs up to the living area but we are in our eighties and manage fine.
